Finding the Fae

Wearable Art

Every single set is handmade and created to last forever. As a stay at home mom, sometimes it's hard for me to find the beauty in every day, yet once I started my business I often find myself distracted by my own hands. I love staring at my nails and I love sharing my inspiration and I want to document my journey while I live out my dreams! Throughout this nail journey I've discovered many things about myself- I didn't even know I was an artist until I decided I wanted to own an art gallery!

xPRESSive Designs Gallery

Nail Art is an art style completely overlooked in the mainstream art world. Not only do nail artists work on a TINY medium- they also BUILD their own canvas. Xpressive Designs Gallery is dedicated to bridging modern art and nail art one press on set at a time!

The Start of My Journey

01.

Tori's Nail Shop

The first time I ever attempted to do acrylic nails on myself was in March 2020, (you know when!) I started out wanting to learn how to do instagram nails because I knew nail salons would charge too much IF they could pull it off.

02.

Press On Nails

After about 7 months I realized I did not have the patience, or desire (hello, neurospicy!) to be an actual nail tech because I couldn't sit there for hours and I absolutely HATED destroying my artwork- I'm typing this with my 'Ice Princess' 3XL set at this very moment! Voila, the idea for selling press ons was born!

03.

More About Nails

My first run as a press on nail business, I sold a few sets, made an instagram and Etsy, etc. The art aspect didn't really stand out to me until I discovered 3D Gel, and made a Frida Kahlo inspired set- my most artistic set at that time. I am still immensely proud of my early work!

04.

Trippie

I decided to use inspiration a close friend suggested (I can draw inspiration from ANYTHING)- it was the album cover art from Trippie Red's "Life's a Trip" Album. Bolstered by my success with my Frida Kahlo inspired set, I wanted to go bigger and literally create an art piece. I was inspired to make nails that make you feel like you're wearing art that could be in a gallery- and one day they will.

Trippie Frida POW!
