Kill Saja

If you're a parent and your children are up to date on the latest craze, you've probably heard of K-Pop Demon Hunters. It's a story about acceptance that happens through the battle of the K-Pop bands. The Saja Boys are the demons, and Huntrix are the hunters, but in a surprise twist our lead singer of Huntrix is half demon who spends all of her time hiding her demon marks or patterns. The music is so popular, it is played in retail stores and was even performed at the Oscars! I recently sat down with my two daughters and watched the entire movie, and to my surprise I absolutely loved it! As you can guess my favorite part is when the girls are gearing up to fight they include a fierce set of nails!

Aren't they just perfect? As soon as I saw them I immediately knew I would be making that exact set. I also knew I wanted to add a peekaboo design and because they were Huntrix's nails, I thought I was going to add the gold and white designs from their uniform. However, when I remembered the purple skin of the demons and the way they glowed in the dark, I had a better idea. I thought my favorite purple/blue color changing polish would be an amazing effect and if I could get them to glow in the dark because it would look EXACTLY like they do in the movie! Now, I was unsure if the color changing effect would work with nail polish painted on top AND mixed with glow in the dark powder, but that's how many of my nail projects go. I get the idea in my head and try it out, in the best case it works perfectly, and the worst, I get a cute set of nails. I've rarely had to scrap a project, even if one of the elements I tried didn't work out.

There is one element of this set that I will fix with my remake though. The pattern design caused a sort of wrinkle in the black polish (which is the base for chrome), which in turn caused the chrome powder to raise. Because this set is mine and I just made them quickly in between my next ode to artists set, I did not bother to cover the bottom design in acrylic, however a layer between the bottom design and the top will erase the wrinkles and this set will be perfect! Even though I accidentally mixed up the sizes on both of my hands, (I was very distracted, but if this were a paid order I definitely would have started over!) I am still so happy with the way this set turned out.

Take this as your sign to try something out because it might work out amazingly! Enjoy the photos of my set below, and check them out on Etsy! As always, thank you for coming on this journey with me. Mush Love, Renee <3
