The Starry Night

The Starry Night has been my favorite painting since I learned about Vincent Van Gogh. The hues and strokes of the painting invoke a nostalgia in me that is hard to describe. Honestly, the fact that Van Gogh painted the view from his asylum, and still captured the beauty of the setting inspires me greatly.

Of course when I first started my nail journey I HAD to paint the Starry Night! I remember wondering how Van Gogh was able to make the swirls the way he did with the blue... my brain literally could not comprehend it at the time! Now, over two years later, I made The Starry Night again, except I wouldn't classify this set as a remake. The outcome was so much better than I could have imagined, and I really got to see the growth in my painting and understanding depth and technique (thank you Bob Ross!).

This set also embodies what xPRESSive Nails means to me as a business. My goal is to make art you can wear every single day. It causes art to be more accessible, and since you bring your hands with you everywhere you have access to art always! As a stay at home mom, there's not always reasons for me to get dressed, but my press ons fill me with joy. It's fun to put dishes away and catch a glimpse of some abstract art, a cute charm, or your favorite painting.
