The Garden of Me and You

This is a set that I've considered doing for a while, but the thought of painting a human heart scared me! Honestly, I'm still not even sure if they resemble human hearts but I love them all the same. I've been interested in doing a set featuring anatomical hearts for some time, and what better way to do that than with a Valentine's Day set?

I once read somewhere that we get our iconic heart symbol from two human hearts sewn together, (I'm not sure that it's true!) but I've been sort of obsessed with the idea ever since. I also love the paintings of hearts surrounded by flowers which I wanted to convey with the 3D flowers.

Underneath this set I painted a reflective gold bottom and included my partner's and I's initial, to complete this lovers set.
