An Artist's Obsession with the Sky
I am not ashamed to admit I have an obsession with the sky, which includes the clouds. It began roughly in 2020 when I first moved to the beautiful, (whatever happens here, you cannot deny that it IS beautiful!) state of Florida. As a native New Yorker I've been surrounded by tall buildings, and buildings in general my entire life with a smoggy, smoky view of the sky. It's just something you don't notice. When I moved to Florida, after I got over the fact that I would be seeing palm trees everyday, I really noticed the sky. Sometimes its a beautiful shade of blue, but more often it's a kaleidoscope of colors mostly purples and blues, but other times we get pinks and an absolute fiery orange during sunset. Of all the sky sets I've completed, When Night Falls or Day Breaks Part 2 is the set I've finally managed to capture all of the colors that I see during my favorite colors of the sky.
Any sky set that I've created thus far has had my signature purple to blue thermal polish, because it exactly captures the movement from night to day or day to night. In an effort to make some fun with new nail colors, I ordered an iridescent/cat eye gel polish mix. When I received the box of colors I wanted to use this pretty purple to pink on my toes, and as I watched the shimmer color change I INSTANTLY knew this was the piece of the sky that I was missing. I am still over the moon obsessed with this set although I am already on to my Halloween nails, (my next blog post will be about Bobby the Banana!) and I hope you guys enjoy this set as much as I do. I"ll also include the picture that inspired this entire set!
Thank you so much for reading my post and coming on this journey with me! As always, this one of a kind set is available on my shop! All nailfies (nail mail) will be featured on my social media and in my emails! - Renee <3
