Finding Inspiration

As a nail artist it seems to me like the nail trends are always changing and I rarely want to participate in them. I pride myself on being "unique" and "artsy" and that usually means I draw my inspiration from anything that interests me and I can recreate somehow on a set of nails. If you seem to have trouble keeping up with trends, or finding styles to create, read on to find out some of my inspiration and hopefully it will help you see things with new eyes too!

Disappearing Dianthus

These are the baby of my Etsy shop because they're the first set I ever sold. It took me completely by surprise and I was so delighted. I saw beautiful flowers outside one day and I snapped a picture of them knowing I wanted to create nails based off of them. It wasnt until 3 weeks later when I received my first set of color changing nail polish this set was born. I like to say my sets make themselves, and this set came together once all of the pieces presented themselves to me! Don't forget to look for the beauty around you in every day, you never know what it could lead to!

Serendipity

Sometimes I set out to find inspiration if I have an idea of what I want to make, but no idea of the direction I want to go in. In this instance I was looking for flower paintings because I started a flower collection and my intent was to create all different types of flower nails. I came across this painting on pinterest, and I'm not sure if you can tell but I absolutely LOVE color changing polish (I use the modelones brand) and certain colors definitely give the feel I'm going for. I used the purple/blue polish to match the sky in the painting, but also to give it a more interactive feel. All sets are exhibitions in their own right!

Color as Inspiration

These next sets were based off of their charm and polish colors being near perfect matches. I absolutely love colors and I love when my sets come together in these ways. They look elaborate and beautiful and they are! But they were also simple and fun to make. I'm sure if you look you can find some matching charms and polish and get creating!

Niko Sasaki

Sometimes inspiration hit you and you dont even know until you finished your work! I had watched this amazing show on Netflix called Dead Boy Detectives, and was obsessed with one character in particular- Niko Sasaki. After I finished the show I was in the mood to make nails, and realized I created them based off her character and personality, but mostly from this clip of the dandelion sprites!
